Footsteps Camp is a small (3 tents) and rustic bush camp located in the Shindi concession of the Okavango Delta.  Footsteps Camp maintains the elegance and eccentricity of the original 'African Safari under canvas' - the emphasis is on exploring this breathtakingly beautiful and diverse environment as the first African explorer's did, either by mokoro or on foot.

Footsteps Camp is a comfortable private camp which accommodates guests in three specially designed twin bedded tents with sewn-in floors. Each tent has its own bucket shower and bush toilet, and even a daily laundry service. The 'bush kitchen' run by our chef, prepares menus to whet all appetites.  This is not the luxurious lodge typical of this area, and much the better for it!

Footsteps Camp offers the highlight of a 'true safari' experience. No special training is required, as distances travelled resemble those of early days, where the emphasis is on exploration and discovery - each [cont.]

morning tracking fresh spoor to reveal the night's events. Other possible activities include game-drives, mekoro trips or fishing, which vary throughout the year.

Footsteps Camp can be hired as a whole to provide the basis of a fantastic family safari which caters to children as young as seven, with fun activities such as cooking over a fire and making bows and arrows, as well as tracking and identification.
